Founded in 1947, Chet’s Shoes is a family-owned, full-service footwear company specializing in high-quality industrial and recreational footwear. With two brick-and-mortar stores in Minnesota, two mobile stores, and a convenient online store, Chet’s Shoes provides excellent customer service, quality, and fit for each customer. We proudly feature a selection of premium footwear brands, including Timberland PRO, KEEN Utility, Danner, Thorogood, Carolina, and more, all tailored for durability and comfort on the job.

Our Story: Chet’s Shoes was founded by Chet Sr. in Columbia Heights, Minnesota, after he developed a deep understanding of quality and fit while working at a New York shoe store during his time in the Merchant Marine in WWII. Bringing this expertise back home, Chet Sr. opened Chet’s Shoes in Columbia Heights. As our community grew, so did our store, eventually relocating to a larger space on University Ave in Spring Lake Park in 2020 to better serve our customers.

Chet’s Legacy: Initially selling family footwear, Chet’s Shoes shifted its focus to children’s shoes and ultimately to the industrial footwear niche we specialize in today. Chet Jr. joined the business in the 1960s, mastering the art of sales and customer service. In 1992, he became the full owner, expanding Chet's Shoes to include a mobile service, with two trucks delivering high-quality work boots and shoes throughout the Twin Cities and beyond. Today, the third generation proudly upholds Chet’s legacy, bringing a fresh commitment to top-quality products and exceptional service.
